Dogeparty Runner | The Distribution Pt. 1

Dogeparty Runner XDPR

--

It seems only fitting that we play a game with the distribution of our vintage game tokens. Hopefully, by now, you have enjoyed reading the history of Dogeparty Runner. Starting with the concepts, next to the digital game tokens, and finishing with the game itself. If not, I encourage you to read our recent posts and visit the vintage game website.

Who’s ready for a game? We spent a lot of time planning a way to get our 2014 game assets to current collectors, and it gives us great pleasure to share the competition we created for it.

The Distribution Game

Starting with the game assets, there are seven game assets tied to the XDPR gameplay. Four were used in the only live game we played, and three more were part of the original game concepts. If we had played a second game, all seven were slated to be used.

The first part of the competition is the limited availability of the XDPR tokens. RUNNER, CLUES, HINTS, and PRIZES are available to purchase and collect in several ways. VICTOR, CLAIMS, and TRADEIN are unavailable; are you taking notes? These three vintage assets will not be for sale directly to collectors.

We are introducing the concept of “Chase” cards into the competition. These three have the smallest supply and are only available to a limited amount of collectors committed to playing the game.

Current Scarcity vs. Final Scarcity

When the dust finally settles, only 20 complete sets of the seven Dogeparty Runner 2014 game tokens will be obtainable.

The ultimate fun I’m hoping this game generates is that the collectors will ultimately determine the final supply and scarcity of the Dogeparty Runner assets. There is enough supply to let someone collect one or two of the assets or all seven.

To get any Chase cards (VICTOR, CLAIMS, or TRADEIN), collectors must collect numerous game assets and destroy them! At the moment, the total supply of all XDPR tokens is the following:

  • RUNNER: 100 supply / 97 available
  • CLUES: 640 supply / 635 available
  • HINTS: 640 supply / 634 available
  • PRIZES: 320 supply / 308 available
  • VICTOR (Chase card): 20 supply / 20 available
  • CLAIMS (Chase card): 30 supply / 30 available
  • TRADEIN (Chase card): 30 supply / 30 available

In the end, if the entire supply of Chase cards are claimed, the total supply of all XDPR tokens will be the following:

  • RUNNER: 100 supply
  • CLUES: 100 supply
  • HINTS: 100 supply
  • PRIZES: 100 supply
  • VICTOR: 20 supply
  • CLAIMS: 30 supply
  • TRADEIN: 30 supply

Sound fun? Let’s dig into more details each collector will want to know before beginning to play.

The Chase Cards

To get one of the Chase cards, collectors will need to destroy some of the supply of the vintage game assets. Here are the juicy details on the game assets paired with the competition.

🔥 Destroy 11 PRIZES, Get 1 VICTOR (20 Available)

The PRIZES token is paired with the VICTOR token. To collect a VICTOR token, a collector must destroy 11 PRIZES.

There is only 20 VICTOR available. If all twenty are claimed, a total of 220 PRIZES will be destroyed, bringing the final supply of PRIZES to 100.

🔥 Destroy 18 CLUES, Get 1 CLAIMS (30 Available)

The CLUES token is paired with the CLAIMS token. To collect a CLAIMS token, a collector must destroy 18 CLUES.

There are only 30 CLAIMS available. If all thirty are claimed, a total of 540 CLUES will be destroyed, bringing the final supply of CLUES to 100.

🔥 Destroy 18 HINTS, Get 1 TRADEIN (30 Available)

The HINTS token is paired with the TRADEIN token. To collect a TRADEIN token, a collector must destroy 18 HINTS.

There are only 30 TRADEIN available. If all thirty are claimed, a total of 540 HINTS will be destroyed, bringing the final supply of HINTS to 100.

Starter Packs and Individual Dispensers

There are two ways to collect the four vintage game tokens for the competition. The first option is a “Starter Pack.” Most game assets are available in four packs containing different amounts of each asset.

Packaging these tokens in packs accomplishes a couple things, explicitly testing the collector’s game theory prowess. First, they help Chase card collectors get multiples of the assets at reduced prices. Secondly, they give some collectors leverage with unwanted assets; to make back their money.

First and foremost is RUNNER — the primary XDPR game token on Dogeparty Runner in 2014. The RUNNER supply is locked at 100, and 97 will be available for collectors.

For this competition, ironically, RUNNER is purely a collectible token. One RUNNER is available in each Starter Pack; 80 out of the 97 are available. The remaining 17 RUNNER will be available in a one-time dispenser.

The bundles in the Starter Packs are intended to help collectors chase all seven Dogeparty Runner game assets. Pack 2 won’t be available until Pack 1 is sold out. Similarly, Pack 3 follows a sold-out Pack 2 and Pack 4 is finally open after the first 3 packs sell out.

Prices will be announced in the next blog post, but high level, bundle 1 is the most affordable, and bundle 4 is the most expensive.

Starter Pack 1 | 25 Available

(asset, quantity)

  • RUNNER, 1
  • CLUES, 4
  • HINTS, 4
  • PRIZES, 2

Starter Pack 2 | 25 Available

(asset, quantity)

  • RUNNER, 1
  • CLUES, 6
  • HINTS, 6
  • PRIZES, 3

Starter Pack 3 | 20 Available

(asset, quantity)

  • RUNNER, 1
  • CLUES, 8
  • HINTS, 8
  • PRIZES, 4

Starter Pack 4 | 10 Available

(asset, quantity)

  • RUNNER, 1
  • CLUES, 10
  • HINTS, 10
  • PRIZES, 5

By far, most Dogeparty Runner game assets are collectible in starter packs. Understanding not everyone will be going after the Chase cards, the possibilities of unofficial dispensers popping up are expected. A lot of time was spent story-boarding out this distribution competition to make it fair to the small collector and the big DAO. I want collectors to have fun with this gamified distribution because games are fun.

The second way to collect the four vintage game tokens is using Dogeparty dispensers. The pricing of each dispenser is determined by the average of the four starter packs. If you’re keeping score, the first 2 bundles price out at a discount compared to the individual dispensers. The third and fourth bundles will be at a slight premium to the dispensers.

RUNNER Dispenser | 17 Available

CLUES Dispenser | 125 Available

HINTS Dispenser | 124 Available

PRIZES Dispenser | 53 Available

Lastly, we have heard from many of you in personal messages expressing a desire to collect the Dogeparty Runner game assets when they are available. That time is soon. Buckle up!

Additionally, many collectors aren’t on Dogeparty and/or don’t own DOGE. The solution is to create an online form to facilitate sales on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our next blog post will include more details on the start of the competition, pricing, and alternative methods of participating.

We may run the first 2 rounds of our Starter Packs through an online form based on the interest we are seeing leading up to the distribution of these 2014 vintage game assets.

Stay tuned. Give us a follow!
